Hermann Oak Leathers

A Classic Leather
Drum-Dyed Harness Leather
Hermann Oak was founded in 1881 making Harness Leather to support westward expansion as wagons traveled through Saint Louis, Missouri. Over the last 140+ years, that process has been refined to produce what is considered the gold standard of harness leathers in the industry, most often seen in the equestrian industry as reins.
These harness leathers are the same quality tanning of our Old World Russet Harness leathers with an additional process to apply a variety of deep, rich colors.
- Proprietary stuffing process for superior penetration of oils and tallows.
- Full bodied leather with superior energy transfer and performance
- Drum Dyed aniline finish for custom look and the same supple hand feel.
- Durable, Rugged leather perfectly suited for hard outdoor use.
Perfect for reins, harnesses, belts, and heavy-duty projects that demand the best.
Each side is traditionally vegetable-tanned using our time-honored process, ensuring deep color, rich feel, and lasting quality that only gets better with age. Trusted by craftsmen and working horsemen alike, Hermann Oak Harness Leather stands up to the toughest conditions while maintaining a smooth, refined finish.
